2 weeks until Staff Conference!

We leave in less than 2 weeks for Hungary, and we are all very excited! The first year we went, it was a fantastic experience. We were checking out Christian Associates, meeting new people, and reconnecting with our friends the Urbanowiczes. What a great time! The 2nd year (last year), we left for Holland 3 days after arriving in Aix. We were jet-lagged, culture-shocked, and I was not functioning at all. I had recurring thoughts of "What on earth have we just done. we are CRAZY!" It was not a good week. I felt overwhelmed, homesick, incompetent and just plain stupid.
Well, it's year three, and wow, am I looking forward to this. To be able to have extended conversations with people who know exactly what we are going through, struggling with and celebrating! I am looking forward to meeting several people whose lives I have glimpsed through their blogs, especially a sweet family who is coming to serve the families of CA by providing the children's program all week. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve in Vienna our first day of conference, through a mini "Serve the City". So many great things to look forward to this year!
