This blog is about our lives in Aix en Provence, France. Some of it is about church planting, some of it is about kids, but mostly it's just life as it happens here.

Greetings from Holland! We made it to Aix last thursday-late afternoon-and now we are at staff conference. Getting here was an experience...let me tell you all about it! On Sunday morning we got up at 4 am (after 1 hour of sleep) and got the girls ready to go. At 5 am, we left for the 40 minute walk to the bus stop. We got on the bus and rode 15 minutes to the TGV(highspeed train) station, where we boarded for the 3.5 hour trip to Paris. The girls slept the entire way, but Teal and I were unable to get much rest. We felt like we were in the middle of a van gogh painting as we whizzed past fields of sunflowers and through beautiful, quaint villages. After arriving in Paris,we had to change train stations, so we carted all our luggage to the local train and headed north across town. The Paris Nord station (at least the the part we needed to go to) was blocked off because bomb squad was investigating abandoned luggage. (when we were in Holland last time our flight was delayed because a WW2 bomb was discovered on our runway). We finally got into the terminal, and got on the train for the 4 hour ride to Amterdam. Since we were in 1st class, we were served a meal and snacks, which was nice, and Lexi slept for an hour. In Amsterdam, we bought our tickets to get to Dalfsen, which involve 2 more trains and 2 more hours. We are still weary. The children are wonderful travellers, and the train was a fun experience. Next year we will do extra fundraising so we can fly :) The food at the conference is much better this year (edible) and the children have yet to cry from hungerlike they did last year. God is good!!! That's all for now, as we are starting back up in 5 minutes!
